I have noticed (read: for a year or so) a lot of comments that end up deleted because some users automatically delete their comments every X hours/days. However, with just how massive of a wealth of knowledge that we have at our disposal here I see things like this as pretty damn detrimental in our good discussion threads, what is this thread, or just in general as you can't always read everything in a single day. We lose good content to the bit gods, and that is a damn shame. I am not talking about OH SHIT I GOT DOXED. BELETE EVERYTHING! However I am just referring to the ones that regularly purge en mass. I am asking for community input on these sorts of accounts. Why you do this? Should we prohibit/discourage this activity? ModsRDum Can people just create /r/guns only alts to let us preserve your post? Request that people not comment in things that are actually going to be looked at in the future? (ID This Gun, How do I, What is this thing?) What say you, o sages of the gun? submitted by /u/Omnifox [link] [comments]
